After weeks of talks and interviews and waiting I got a great job offer, which I accepted. I then immediately got another three offers, any one of which I would have loved to accept. Talk about pouring when it rains! Find out the details on where I landed and which major Mac OS X application I’m working on.
iPhone 4 Reception; better than any before or worthy of a lawsuit?
The whole iPhone 4 antenna circus is just another a example of how selfish, in general, the world’s population has become, at least in the “developed” countries (1st, 2nd, 3rd and otherwise). This post is just my use of the iPhone 4 issue to point out the absurdity I see nearly every day anymore.
FedEx ruins my iPhone 4 day :(
FedEx shows me why one should never trust them (or actually any delivery service for that matter, see my UPS rant elsewhere!) to deliver your package on time … or even at all!
OOP != classes, but may == DOD
Think about how the system will use your data, and design your objects so that their data is optimized for highest performance. Then code your OOP design in whichever language is best for the task.
How to background load and cache UIImageViews images
It’s often the case that the apps I am working on are required to download quite a couple, or even a few dozen, images and display them in a UIImageView. In looking online I found a few different methods of loading image data for a UIImageView in the background, and a few examples of caching [...]

Why doesn’t this thing have bluetooth? (Another thing about the Panasonic I don’t like).*Warning* Do not install software included in Panasonic products!
The software included on Panasonic CD’s installs extremely invasive “pop-up” programs that are installed in a manner designed to make them as difficult to remove (uninstall) as possible. That’s virus behavior, not application behavior, shame on you Panasonic!

First photos of updates to S2000
Well, I updated the S2000 again, only this time it wasn’t for performance, rather it was on appearance. :wow: There is still a few things I want to get done, but for the time being I’m “finished” mucking with it. Time to get to the track and step on the gas The engine bay came [...]
Snow Leopard Breaks All 3rd Party Apps by Removing Creator Codes!
Is Apple trying to put all other software makers out of business? I mean, if an end user creates a document in MyWordProcessor but it opens in TextEdit all of the time, which app are they going to keep using?
UPS continues tradition of poor service
Please do not use UPS to ship packages, all you are going to do is piss of your customer!
So I’ve been wondering for a while now as product announcements get made and the online and press communities react: when is a WebOS a good thing?
CAContextInvalidLayer and setFence:count
Sometimes what looks like the obvious solution works just fine… until something goes horribly wrong and you get an error that has “absolutely no connection” to that change you made two days ago that is “working just fine”.
